Premiership favourites, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will be locked up in difficult encounters this weekend as the Glo Premier league enters week seven at the various centres.Incidentally, the two top attractions will be staged in the Northern regions where the premiership giants play as guests of RTU and Wa All Stars. After surviving a Chelsea scare in Kumasi last week, the Porcupine Warriors will visit Wa where they engage tough homesters Wa All Stars. The Tamale Sports Stadium will also host the other cagey encounter between RTU and Accra Hearts of Oak.Kotoko's failure to annex the six points in their last two games saw them dethroned from the apex of the table with the close followers jumping on top with others drawing parity. With not more than two points separating the top five clubs, this weekend's round of matches present them an opportunity for a fresh start to lay their stronghold on the title. But more important at this stage is the emerging rivalry between Kotoko and Hearts which was non-existent in the previous season.Although Lions currently occupy the top spot, the attention is on the race between the two giants and fans will follow the outcome of their matches with keen interest.RTU's invincibility at home is unquestionable but that of Wa All Stars is not a surety because of the number of clubs that have visited there and survived.By these analyses, RTU represent a bigger danger to the Phobians than All Stars to Kotoko. However, Kotoko's performance in recent times has been nothing to write home about and with the high level of inspiration in the camps of the minnows, Kotoko and Hearts must be on the alert. In the same vein, the topspot position of Lions comes under severe threat as they come against Liberty Professionals at the Ohene Djan Stadium.Liberty are yet to find their rhythm in the league and would want to brighten their fortunes of ending the first round with the elites and justify their position as Top 4 champions. But against Lions who have resolved to maintain their position, it will not be an easy task for Liberty. The Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi will host the King Faisal and All Blacks clash while Ashgold returns to the Len clay stadium to face the might of Kessben FC.Hasaacas will welcome Berekum Arsenals to the Sekondi Essipong Stadium just as Mirren obliges Wise to the Ohene Djan Stadium. At Sunyani, Chelsea will have a tall order of proving that their performance against Kotoko was no fluke as they come face to face with Tema Youth.Source:The Ghanaian Times
