A truck full of yam has overturned into the Oti river at Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.
According to an eyewitness report, the incident happened as the driver attempted to get onto a ferry to cross the river.
A video from the incident captured the driver of the truck's failed attempt to reverse onto the ferry.
The trailer of the vehicle with registration number AS 9842-Z carrying the tubers of yam was not well aligned with the access ramp of the ferry causing the vehicle to slide off the ramp and into the river, overturning the entire truck in the process.
The condition of the driver and other occupants of the vehicle is yet to be ascertained.
