A cargo truck loaded with boxes of Onga Cube products was gutted by fire in the early hours of Monday, October 27, at Nnadieso Township in the Asante Akim South Municipality, Ashanti Region.
According to a Facebook post by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Konongo-Odumase Fire Station received a distress call at 1:28 a.m. and dispatched a team to the scene immediately.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the Man Diesel cargo truck, with registration number BF 9339G703, engulfed in flames. Eyewitnesses said some residents had attempted to control the fire using buckets of water before the crew’s arrival.
The GNFS team quickly deployed a delivery hose and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas or causing further damage.

No injuries were reported, but the truck and part of its cargo were destroyed. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The GNFS commended the swift action of the Konongo-Odumase crew and reminded the public to avoid using water to fight vehicular fires, urging residents instead to call the Fire Service immediately in the event of such incidents.

“Kudos to the adept crew for their quick response,” the Service said.
