All hell broke loose at the Anloga traffic intersection in Kumasi Friday night when the driver of a truck loaded with cattle lost control of the wheels, causing a near-fatal accident.
The trailer ran into seven other vehicles before eventually making a stop in a nearby drain. Eyewitness account attributes the accident to a faulty brake system.
Luv Fm’s Kofi Adu Domfeh who visited the accident scene reports that there were no fatalities, even though the cars involved were badly damaged, with smashed windscreens and tattered bonnets.
One eyewitness described the incident as a miracle. According to him, the brake failure occurred on a steep descent and “there was an attempt to bring the rampaging truck under control with the use of cement blocks but to no avail”.
The Police Motor Traffic and Transport Unit at Oforikrom have managed to restore order at the intersection.
