Dr. Amoako Tufuor, one of the men coordinating the Vice President’s presidential bid, has warned the New Patriotic Party that it stands to lose public support if the extravagant campaign being run by aspirants is not regulated.
Speaking to Joy News, Dr. Amoako Tufuor says there is still a lot of poverty among Ghanaians and that the mode of the campaigns could create disaffection for the ruling party.
His comments come after what observers say is the splash of cash in the campaign process.
Meanwhile, one of the flagbearer aspirants Professor. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has asked delegates attending the December 22 Congress to be vigilant against what he calls electoral manipulations.
He said the NPP stands at the crossroad – to move backward into opposition again or set a record by winning three consecutive elections.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, the former CEO of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital urged the delegates to critically examine the campaign messages and other wooing antics of the aspirants and decide on whom to entrust the fortune of the nation.
