The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revealed attempts have been made to reach out to Ghanaian footballers who ply their trade in Turkey following Monday morning's earthquake.
Ghanaians have been left in shock after reports emerged former Black Stars forward, Christian Atsu, is yet to be found following the incident.
The Hatayaspor star is among a host of others who are believed to be trapped under rubble due to the earthquake with many wishing the 31-year-old the best of luck as the search and rescue teams continue to look for him.
The GFA stated that steps are being taken to guarantee the safety of Ghanaian players who reside in and work in Turkey and Syria.
The regulatory body of football in Ghana in their social media post also said a prayer for Atsu as they hope for good news regarding his safety.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Christian Atsu and our brothers and sisters in Turkey and Syria. We remain hopeful for positive news," they wrote in a statement.
