The technical handlers of Ghana's national Olympic team, the Black Meteors has invited 21 players to camp in preparation for next month's Beijing 2008 crucial qualifier against the 'Dream Team' Eagles of Nigeria.
A statement signed by Emmanuel Gyimah, Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) copied to the GNA Sports requested the local-based players to report for camping at the Mariset Hotel at Osu on Sunday, October 27.
The players are expected to be in camp to be joined later by their foreign counterparts for the 'Ghana Must Win' crucial clash on November 16.
Kpando-based Premier League side, Heart of Lions top the list with six players followed by Liberty Professionals on four.
The invited players are Jerry Akaminko, Obed Ansah, Samuel Ellis, Addoquaye Addo, Osei Banahene, John Boye (Heart of Lions), Eric Nii Baah, Francis Akwafo, Samuel Inkoom (Asante Kotoko), Alex Aryee (Wa All Stars) and Joseph Tachie Mensah (Accra Hearts of Oak).
The rest are Bawa Mumuni, Emmanuel Allan, Kennedy Korlie, Kojo Asamoah (Liberty Professionals), Ernest Sowah and Seidu Yakubu (Tema Youth), Daniel Addo, and Sampson Cudjoe (Kessben FC), Michael Akuffo (Feyenoord) and Fatau Dauda (Okwawu United).
The Meteors occupy the top spot of Group A on six points, two more than their West African rivals and victory will see them clinch the automatic spot for the Olympic Games.
