Two former Attorney-Generals (AGs) and Ministers of Justice Friday appeared before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, to testify in respect of the payment of 94 million euros as judgement debt, to Construction Pioneers (CP), a construction company.Mr Joe Ghartey and Mrs Betty Mould-Iddrisu, who served in the Kufuor administration and the Mills government respectively, pleaded for more time to study documents on the payment of the judgement debt to the company. The Auditor General's report for 2010 contained various judgment debts including that of Construction Pioneers (CP).The two former office holders pleaded for more time to obtain a copy of the contract document from the AG’s Department to apprise themselves of the full details.Mr Ghartey had earlier made general comments regarding the matter but implored the PAC to give him more time to obtain a copy of the award contract to enable him to speak in detail to the issue.Taking her turn Mrs Mould-Iddrisu also requested the PAC to allow her time to establish contact with the AG’s Department for a copy of the document before she could speak on the matter.Mrs Mould-Iddrisu resisted persistent efforts by the Chairman of the PAC, Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, to get her to speak as she insisted on obtaining a copy of the document before she could do so.A member of the PAC, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, supported the position of Mrs Mould-Iddrisu, saying that since she was under oath there was no need to push her to pass comments on the matter.Mrs Mould-Iddrisu was accompanied by her lawyers in the persons of Nana Ato Dadzie and Mr George Loe.Also appearing before the PAC on the matter were the Chief Director of at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General, Mr Suleman Ahmed and the Solicitor Secretary at the ministry, Mrs Ama Dontoh who also asked for time to obtain the necessary documentation on the matter.
