Two men have allegedly been shot dead by people suspected to be herdsmen at Agogo in the Ashanti Region.
The two were said to have been killed on their farms. A third person escaped unhurt only because he had gone to fetch water.
A resident told Joy News the incident happened around 4:30 pm, Friday.
He explained the third person who had gone to fetch water, heard gunshot after which he saw men believed to be herdsmen take to their heels.
Joy News cannot independently confirm that claim.
He said the security taskforce has taken the bodies to the Agogo hospital.
The latest incident follows a long-drawn battle between residents and the herdsmen who have been accused of destroying farms and raping women in the area.
The herdsmen also accuse the residents of killing their colleagues and shooting their cattle.
The incident will heighten tension in an area already boiling with accusations and counter accusations between residents and herdsmen.
The National Security had deployed men to the area to maintain law and order after reports of similar killing of a 21-year-old man trickled in last month.
It is not clear yet what the security will be doing about this latest incident.
