A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced two notorious armed robbers to eighty years imprisonment, Tuesday.

Twenty-two year old trader, Kwaku Owusu and an accomplice Kwame Apraku Adabor will serve 40 years each in prison in hard labour for robbing and inflicting stabbing the Deputy General Manager of Amanano Rural Bank in Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District.

The two convicts, who pleaded guilty had laid ambushed at the Atasamanso residence of the family at about 2:30 a.m; attacked them with locally manufactured pistols and knives while they entered the house from hospital.

According to Senior State Attorney Gyamfuaah Sarpong, Owusu and Apraku stabbed the Deputy Bank Manager, Larry Baffuor Appiagyei several times on the chest hand on December 16, 2014.

They then robbed the family of GH8,400 and other personal belongings and bolted. It took the intervention of the son of Mr. Larry to call police emergency lines before a police patrol team conveyed the wounded father to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.

But luck eluded the two convicts when Mr. Larry Baffuor Appiagyei identified the two at an identification parade on January 1, 2015; one year after the incidence at the Regional Police Headquarters.

The court, presided by Mrs. Afua Adu Amankwaah sentenced the accused persons on their own plea.
