A Ugandan man has been arrested by officials of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) for trafficking narcotics.
Bwogo Federick, 53 was arrested on April 25 this year during arrival formalities.
Officials of NACOB say Mr Bwogo was arrested on suspicion he had ingested narcotic substances. A test of his urine confirmed the suspicion.
“He told prosecutors in court that he was rather sent by a Ugandan national in Kampala-Uganda to deliver the drugs to one Ahmed, also a Ugandan national in Ghana for a fee of $1,500 without knowing the name of the sender,” a state from NACOB said in part.
Mr Bwogo has been remanded into prison custody pending final verdict of the case.
