Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has launched its revamped mobile application, the UMB SpeedApp.
The revamped UMB SpeedApp represents a major leap in the bank's digital transformation agenda, engineered to make banking faster, smarter, and more secure.
The new platform provides a smooth, user-friendly experience that simplifies daily transactions while introducing cutting-edge digital features to enhance customer satisfaction.
Speaking at the launch, Tubour Ofei-Agyemang, Head of E-Business at UMB, stated that the new app offers customers a more convenient and safe way to bank remotely.
“We considered the challenges customers had before and we corrected them with the new app. The complaint feature is one of the new features. There is an embedded feature that enables complaints with a 24hr customer service, making it convenient for customers. Aside that the app allows you to add, consolidate and monitor all customer accounts.” Mr. Ofei-Agyemang said.
“The self-service on password resets is also key, making this app the go-to platform for all customer needs”, he emphasised.
On SpeedApp’s robust security architecture, Tubour noted that “there are several security features embedded in the app. The biometric features, Personal Identification Number logins and other secured and industry required accessibility layers have been implemented.”
With improved navigation, fortified security architecture, and seamless transaction capabilities, the new SpeedApp promises to redefine mobile banking convenience. Users will enjoy instant fund transfers, easy bill payments, efficient account management, and quick access to a wide range of financial services within a few taps, reinforcing UMB’s dedication to modern, customer-centered banking solutions.
Meanwhile, Edem Knight-Tay, Head of Corporate Communications at the bank emphasised UMB’s commitment to driving innovation and delivering service excellence.

“We promise customers speed, passion, excellence, ethics and diligence, that is what we stand for. We have served customers with these and more since 1972 and we shall continue to do more.”
UMB continues to cement its position as one of Ghana’s most innovative financial institutions, consistently leveraging technology to redefine banking experiences. The launch of the revamped SpeedApp represents another bold milestone in UMB’s quest to this regard.
