There were chaotic scenes unfolding at the Kawukudi Intersection off the 37-Achimota Road in Accra.
This happened as unaffiliated youths clashed with police on Day 2 of the #FreeTheCitizen and #StopGalamseyNow demonstrations.
The group, largely made up of Muslim youth reportedly forming part of Chief Imam's entourage, encountered a police barricade set up as part of the security measures for the protests.
Most of the group, who were on motorcycles, grew agitated by the blockade and demanded its removal.
However, the police refused, which led to a confrontation.
In the end, the youth forcefully removed the barricade, defied the police, and rode through while the officers looked on helplessly.

Meanwhile, some #FreeTheCitizens protestors were unenthused about how the police handled the situation.
They accused the police of discrimination as they failed to arrest any of the riders despite the group's use of excessive force.
