The Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance Workers, UNICOF is today expected to announce its decision on a planned strike.
JOY-BUSINESS has gathered that the move has been influenced by delays in reinstating the union chairman of Merchant bank, Rev. Jonas Koranteng-Smart.
JOY-BUSINESS has also learnt the union would also be calling for the dismissal of management and board of Merchant Bank.
The Labour Commission directed the bank to reinstate the union chairman after he was dismissed for misconduct and insubordination.
Merchant Bank has however appealed the ruling in court with the case to be heard on September 27.
UNICOF is made up of workers in industry, manufacturing, commerce and finance sector. A strike by the union could therefore have serious implications for the financial industry
