Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), one of Ghana’s leading indigenous banks, has deployed 15 new Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), bringing the bank’s total ATM network to 37.
Ms. Yvonne Botchey, Director, Marketing and Communications, UMB, noted that all the new UMB ATMs are off-site, vastly extending accessibility to customers of the bank’s services well beyond the 22 branches located across the country.
She said this falls in line with the bank’s future plans to open more branches to bring its products and services closer to its customers and also encourage patronage.
She pointed out that UMB’s offsite ATMs can be found in strategic locations within the Greater Accra Region such as University of Ghana Legon Campus, GIMPA Junction, Kwabenya Roundabout, Palace Mall and Korle Bu. Others are Dansoman Roundabout, Spintex Road, Teshie Melcom, Takoradi Market Circle and Weija Shoprite.
Ms. Botchey noted that UMB’s ATMs are gh-link compliant and therefore can be used by customers non-UMB customers. The UMB ATMs, she explained, offer services such as: cash withdrawals up to a maximum daily limit of GHC1000, fund’s transfer, checking of account balance, mini account statements and request for new cheque books.
“UMB’s ATMs offer customers safe, secure and easy access to their funds and to other services of the bank 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This gives our customers complete convenience,” she added.
Having established a reputation over the past four decades as one of Ghana’s leading wholesale banks, UMB is now replicating its superior capabilities in financial product and service delivery in the area of retail banking as well, and setting standards for the banking industry.
UMB also provides investment banking and fund management services through its subsidiary, Merban Investment Holdings Limited; and provides stock brokerage and issuing house services through another subsidiary, Merban Stockbrokers Limited.
