VAR once again denied Manchester City a last-gasp win against Tottenham as a stoppage-time Gabriel Jesus goal was ruled out, meaning the champions had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
Tottenham fought back twice, with first Erik Lamela and then Lucas Moura cancelling out first-half strikes from Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, but it looked as though Jesus had grabbed City all three points late on at a corner.
However, VAR would rule the goal out for a handball by Aymeric Laporte in the build-up in scenes reminiscent of City’s Champions League defeat to the same opponent in April.
Pep Guardiola’s men came into the fixture having won their last 15 games in a row but Spurs held on for a precious point.
