Musician KiDi has debunked reports that heavy competition at Lynx Entertainment influenced the exit of his former label mate MzVee.

Lynx Entertainment until MzVee’s departure had four acts including KiDi, Kuami Eugene and the recently signed duo, DopeNation.

MzVee had been the only signed act until the arrival of KiDi and Kuami Eugene in 2016. Many people accused the label of focusing so much on Kuami Eugene and leaving out the rest.

However, speaking with Lexis Bill on Drive Time on Joy FM, KiDi said there was no such thing as a competition among the artistes.

He explained that the label having superstars has never been an issue for anyone or affected any work as “everybody has different projects they are working on.”

KiDi said the relationship between himself and his colleagues had never been compromised with any competition.

He stated that “when she was there, we used to all vibe together and do stuff. We all help each other to grow.”

MzVee is not the only female singer to have left the record label. Her two other friends she started music with through the group D3 left the label, Feli Nuna followed and then singer/rapper Eazzy.

This has sparked some concerns on whether female artistes in the industry are just tough to manage.

However, KiDi believes gender has nothing to do with record label management.

“Every human being at some point is difficult to manage. Two people working together are bound to have disagreements or something else can come to play,” he said.

The ‘For Better For Worse’ singer added that he is not enthused about MzVee’s exit.

“Breakups no matter how mutual it is always a sad thing,” KiDi said.
