Highlife artiste, KiDi, has stated that he is not in the music business to compete with anyone.
According to the Lynx Entertainment signee, competition does not really give room for people to explore or be flexible beyond what their competitors do.
He told Nana Ama McBrown on McBrown’s Kitchen that if he focuses on competition, everything the competitor does, he would want to emulate which he explains is not healthy.
KiDi has been compared to singers like King Promise, Kurl Songz and his label mate, Kuami Eugene. During his early years at Lynx Entertainment, there were rumours the tight competition between himself and Kuami Eugene had strained their relationship.
The two, however, have come out to deny the allegations.
“I’m my only challenger,” the ‘Gyal Dem Sugar’ singer said.
KiDi explained he looks at his past work and strives to do better than what he did previously.
The ‘Sugar daddy’ hitmaker said making up his mind to focus on his craft and what he does best, with no pressure to compete or copy, “you keep going forward.”
