On tech Thursday, Joy News brings you the story of a man who drops out of college to be an app developer.
Kane Mani has come up with an app; E-Prepaid, that allows you to purchase electricity via the app.
Speaking to Joy News’ Joseph Ackah Blay, he recounts the story of how he had to comb the entire community of East-Legon in search of a sales point to buy power when he ran out of some, one evening.
“After that day, it occurred to me that if I had this problem then others might too,” he said.
He told Ackah Blay in an exclusive interview that the app is not a subsidiary of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
However, it facilitates the purchase of power between the client and the vendors without the client having to necessarily go the vending point.

“This allows you to purchase the units any time of the day or night, no worrying about whether or not the vendors have closed,” he said.
