Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy bwoy is wondering why President Nana Akufo-Addo has not commented on the Menzgold saga.
According to him, just like the president commenting on several issues affecting the country, he should do the same for the Menzgold issue.
Commenting on the saga on the first time, the artiste who was a brand ambassador for the embattled gold dealership, told Doreen Avio on Let’s Talk Showbiz on JoyNews that, “this Menzgold situation is a very big one.”
The embattled firm during its glory days received several endorsements from the country’s biggest entertainment personalities.
The celebrities were either appointed ambassadors or publicly declared their endorsement of the company.
Currently, Menzgold CEO Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, is accused of defrauding by false pretence and money laundering.
Known celebrities including Okyeame Kwame, Becca, Joselyn Dumas, Jackie Appiah and Stonebwoy were seen on posters and billboards as ambassadors of the company.
Stonebwoy told JoyNews, “Have we asked ourselves why the president, our father, hasn’t been able to come to speak about that yet? That alone should tell us that it is a bigger issue more than me.”
“Whoever went into [an] investment with Menzgold has a contract with Menzgold,” and there are procedures people can follow to get their money back.
“This situation is actually beyond us [ambassadors],” the ‘Baafira’ hitmaker said.
Asked if his brand has been affected by the saga, the dancehall act responded, “my brand is clean, it’s not dinted in any way.”
