The police in the Volta region have commenced investigations into the shooting of a 36-year-old man by an unknown assailant.
The victim has been left hospitalised in the incident which occurred Thursday night.
A journalist in the area, Aguda Mumui narrated to Joy News his account of the incident: “Godwin Adzako was in his garden at the backyard with some people weeding and discussing issues about their job and according to him, suddenly he just heard a gunshot and they started running,” he said.
Unfortunately for him, Aguda added, "Godwin was shot at his left rib and some people around took him to the hospital."
Superintendent Godfrey Tetteh Adjirako, Kpando District Police Commander told Joy News the police are currently investigating the incident.
“We are investigating it [and] at the same time we are monitoring [the situation],” he said.
The police, Supt. said no one has yet been arrested in connection with the shooting incident but the military brought an individual they are investigating.
The victim, he added, is responding to treatment.
