Ghana’s Black Queens have been drawn in Group D in the group stages of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to be staged in Morocco.
Kim Lars Bjorkegren's side will come up against Cameroon, Mali and Cape Verde who they played during the 2024 edition.
The Black Queens are competing in their second consecutive tournament, following their return to the continental stage for the first time since 2018, after an appearance last year.
Ghana beat Egypt to secure qualification to the 2026 edition, claiming a 7-1 aggregate win under the guidance of Kim Lars Bjorkegren.
Record champions, Nigeria, have been drawn in Group C where there will be a repeat of their fixture against Zambia, while they will also play Egypt and Malawi.
2022 and 2024 finalists and hosts, Morocco, have been paired with Algeria, Senegal and Kenya.
The top two in each group will automatically qualify for the quarterfinals of this year's tournament.
Ghana will be looking to book a return to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, after a 19-year absence, and a semifinal place will be enough to secure a place.
The WAFCON will take place between March 17 and April 3.
Here is the full group stage draw:
Group A: Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, Kenya
Group B: South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Tanzania
Group C: Nigeria, Zambia, Egypt, Malawi
Group D: Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Cape Verde
