Hours before Bukom Banku would step into the boxing ring, he turned theological, calling award-winning dancehall artiste Samini a "real man of God".
Speaking to Multi TV's Rebecca Darko, Bukom Banku revealed, the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) and MTV Base award winner was the source of his motivation for his bout.
Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known by his stage name Samini employs a genre of a melodious mixture of highlife, dancehall, reggae and hip-hop. Samini has been around since his debut album, Dankwasere released in 2004.
Although Samini is not a known fan of boxing, Bukom Banku insisted the popular entertainer would lead him into the ring.
"Am bring Samini into the ring inside. Samini, the man of God. A dey respect him" he said in pidgin.
In a tribute to Samini's motivational powers, Bukom said Samini's 'Scatter bad mind' is the song that will lead him to victory.
And victory, he secured after Bukom Banku went on to defeat his challenger, Ayittey Powers last Thursday
