The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has in a statement assured the nation that they are working to restore power supply to the country.
At approximately 2:00pm Sunday afternoon, the country experienced a nationwide blackout.
The Authority has, however, promised that its "technical team is currently working to restore supply to all Buk Supply (BSPs) in the country."
According to a press statement signed by the Corporate Communications officer at GRIDCo, the reason for the power shortage experienced across the country on Sunday has not yet been determined.
Parts of the statement said: "Ghana Company Limited (GRIDCo) wishes to inform the general public that, at approximately 2:10 pm on Sunday, March 7, 2021, a challenge in the power system led to a total system shutdown.
"This led to the interruption in power supply to all parts of the country."
Despite this, the power Authority has given the assurance that "GRIDCo is working to ascertain the reasons behind the total system shutdown and will update the relevant stakeholders in due course."
