The Russia Embassy in Ghana has backed its earlier claims that the soaring food prices in Ghana cannot be blamed on its invasion of Ukraine.
A tweet by the Russian Embassy indicated it cannot be blamed for rising food prices on the African continent.
It said the Ghanaian media had fallen for a ploy by the West to blame Russia for increasing food prices worldwide.
It pointed out that the Russian Embassy provided a detailed list of imports from other countries to back its claims that the invasion of Ukraine has nothing to do with Ghana’s economic woes.
The soaring food prices had triggered rising food inflation, which has also subsequently pushed inflation further up.
