The first accused person standing trial for the alleged murder of a 10-year-old at Kasoa disclosed to the Kaneshie District court on Monday that they killed a pregnant woman in the past.

Although 15-year-old Felix Nyarko did not say when exactly they murdered the pregnant woman, he said the murder of Ismael Mensah Abdullah is not the first time they have killed someone.

The juvenile told the court that 18-year-old Nicholas Kwame Kani was his accomplice in that act.

“Myself [sic] and Nicholas have killed a pregnant woman in the past but not in this case. We have killed a pregnant woman before. If Nicholas said he won’t tell the truth, I will speak the truth,” he told the court.

Felix told Rosemond Douduaa Agyiri that the agony the ghost of Ishmael Abdullah has taken him through made him confess to committing such dastardly acts.

He said the 10-year-old's ghost tormented him to speak the truth else he would be killed.

However, Nicholas Kwame Mensah has denied his involvement.

The Kaneshie District Court committed the two teenagers to stand murder trial at the High Court.

This was after the prosecution led by Nana Adoma Osei filed a new Bill of Indictment (BI) in the court on Monday.

Felix Nyarko and Nicholas Kwame Kani were arrested for alleged murder at Kasoa Lamptey Mills in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region on April 3, this year.

The suspects, giving the rationale behind their actions, told the Police a fetish priest in the Volta Region had asked them to bring a body part for money.

According to the suspects, they had initially wanted to kidnap their 10-year-old victim, demand GH¢5,000 ransom from his family, before going ahead to kill him and get the needed body part for the spiritualist.

Per the Police charge sheet, the two admitted that they killed the boy, Ishmael by hitting a club against his neck.

The material list of evidence (exhibits) attached to the BI includes a club and a pickaxe, a shovel, a spade, pieces of cement blocks, samples of soil with blood from where the incident happened, and pictures of all the exhibits.

Also in the BI were investigation cautioned statements obtained from the accused persons, postmortem examination report and picture of the deceased.
