The manager of Ghanaian artiste Camidoh, George Mensah Britton has said in Joy FM's latest Twitter Spaces conversation on showbiz that there are limits to what Camidoh is allowed to post on his social media pages.
Even though he mentioned there are no clear-cut restrictions on the artiste’s activities in the cyber space, he explained that there lines he cannot cross.
"We make sure that he stays clean. I mean staying clean as in not going to affect anybody. Because a musician your followers equally have diverse political views especially you don't go talk about issues that will come back and harm you. Sure we will not set things that he cannot discuss in house but we try as much as possible not to step on the boundaries,” he told the host Kwame Dadzie.
"Once or twice, Camidoh has come out to share his views on topics relating to the government or the current happening in the country. But it is always the surface. We do not go harder to cause any damage to the brand because Camidoh is still a growing a brand, and he shares he views without insulting and that what is keeping him afloat when it comes to topics like that," George Britton added.
He said people are allowed to share their views in any manner they want as artistes they must think about their views.
"Others will choose sides but as an artiste you should also be considerate about your following. Camidoh has a lot of NPP people and NDC people that like him. He also has people from various religions that like him," he said.
Talking about how necessary it is for handlers of artistes to have access to their social media accounts, he indicated that it helps rein in on excesses and also keeps the pages alive even when the artistes are too busy with the creative work.
The discussion comes on the back of Epixode’s interview on Joy Prime where he said that his manager who had access to his account used it for fraudulent activities, a reason he parted ways with him.
Joy FM’s Twitter Spaces show, ‘Joy Entertainment Unpacked’ is held on Wednesdays from 8pm to 10pm.
