Former President and NDC Flagbearer, John Mahama, has called for the revival of inter-schools football and the Milo Championships in Ghana.
The Milo Championships have previously produced some of Ghana's best footballers, including Stephen Appiah, the late Christian Atsu, Asamoah Gyan, and Sulley Muntari.
Mahama urged stakeholders to revive these tournaments, which have been crucial in discovering and developing football stars in Ghana.
"Football is national sports and everybody love it but we must organize it in such a way we will be able to get something," he said at a town hall meeting with Ghanaian youth at the Bukom Boxing Arena for International Youth.
"So we must bring back the inter-schools football, the milo championships, the academicals, and the coaches so that we pick talents."

Mahama also highlighted that Ghana’s recent Africa Cup of Nations campaigns have been disappointing, having failing to advance beyond the group stages of the last two editions.
He believes that a well-structured organization, integrating both local and foreign players, can help Ghana return to success.
