The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has set its sights on a historic appearance in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, its communications director has said.
In an interview with 3Sports, Henry Asante Twum, the GFA's communications director, said, ''It's our dream to make it all the way to the final. We want to qualify from the group, move to the next stage, qualify for the quarters, move to the semis, and then make it to the final.’’
Ghana will be making a fifth World Cup appearance in June, at the tournament to be hosted by Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group I, where they will face Panama, 1966 champions England, and 2018 finalists Croatia.
Ghana will play Austria in Vienna on March 27 before traveling to Stuttgart to face Germany on March 30, 2026.
Austria also named their squad yesterday, and it has Kevin Danso in there, who is of Ghanaian descent.
After this month's friendlies, Ghana will wrap up its World Cup preparations with an international friendly against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on June 2, 2026.
