The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Joseph Ade Coker has given the surest indication that, the party will endorse Veep nominee, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as running mate ahead of the December elections. Mr. Ade Coker said the performance of Mr. Amissah-Arthur at the vetting committee of parliament on Monday showed that when he is given the role as running mate, the party would win the elections. The nomination of Mr. Amissah-Arthur as Veep following the demise of president Mills, generated lots of argument in the NDC. Eastern regional minister Victor Smith asserted that Mr. Amissah-Arthur may not be able to win votes for the NDC if endorsed as running mate while other party members think otherwise. Mr. Amissah-Arthur appeared before the vetting committee on Monday after which Mr. Ade Coker is proposing that he is made the running of the party due to his exceptional performance. Speaking to Adom fm’s parliamentary correspondent Listowell Fordjour shortly after the vetting, Mr. Ade Coker noted that the central bank governor was a good candidate who has all the qualities the party needed. “I am saying here that we will endorse Amissah-Arthur as the running-mate for this year’s elections because he is good. From day one, I have said he is a good material. Those who were kicking against his nomination have seen today that Amissah-Arthur is indeed the rightful candidate for NDC now. He has gone through the system today and we are testifying that he can get votes on the platform,” he asserted. He stressed that all the regional executives of the party will agree that Mr. Amissah-Arthur be nominated to partner President Mahama after the September 1 special delegates' congress endorse President Mahama's candidature. “After the endorsement of President Mahama as flagbearer come September 1, we the regional executives of the party will lead a campaign to get Amissah-Arthur endorsed as running mate”.
