The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Websoft Solutions has maintained that he was assaulted by Black Stars General Captain Asamoah Gyan and his brother Baffuor Gyan.
Godwin Martey refuted claims made by the two brothers on various media platforms that they did not lay a finger on him as reported.
He also stated that the recent apology by Asamoah Gyan was out of place as it was directed to his fans instead of the actual victim [him and his mother].
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Monday he said if the footballers have shown some form of remorse after the incident, he would have reconsidered the decision to sue them and withdrawn the case.
“First of all, he was not even apologising to me. It is a surprise that even once we are confronted with irrefutable, unequivocal and incontestable evidence, you chose to select what you want to apologise for.”
“You left out the physical assault and decided to apologise for the verbal assault yet the apology was not even to the person you insulted. You insulted my mother’s private part,” he said.
This comes after the Websoft CEO revealed in a press statement on Friday that the duo attacked him at the37 Army Officer’s Mess tennis court the previous night.
Mr Martey lamented how his mother felt degraded by the Gyan brother's insults.
“She was very emotional when she heard on radio that somebody was insulting her," he said.
There was a scuffle between Mr Martey and the two brothers after he decided not to continue a tennis match because all controversial points were given to Asamoah Gyan by his brother Baffour Gyan who was the umpire.
Speaking in an interview after the news of the incident, the General Captain of the Black Stars apologised to his fans for using some unflattering words on his tennis opponent, who accused him of assault.
He said the words were said out of anger because of the disagreement they had on the tennis court.
The footballer vehemently denied Mr Martey's allegation his brother, Baffour Gyan had beat him at the tennis court.
Meanwhile, Mr Godwin Martey revealed that he is visiting a clinical psychologists for treatment as he was left traumatised by Thursday night’s incident.
