We all want to be seen as attractive but few of us have bothered to ask ourselves what really makes someone attractive. Below are some of the traits or characteristics of attractiveness.1. Confidence. Anyone who exudes confidence, especially of the quiet type, is attractive. A confident person gives the impression that he is a complete person who knows what he is about. Such a person is a winner and we are attracted to winners. Confidence can be seen in the way a person walks; in the way a person even shakes hands; in the way a person interacts with others and in the way a person speaks.2. Sense of humour. We love the person with a sense of humour. That person is always easy to get along with. He makes life bearable, even enjoyable and he helps us to see the lighter side of things. The person with a sense of humour also projects intelligence and we love that and are attracted to that kind of person.3. Thoughtfulnes Thoughtfulness or sensitivity is the ability to put yourself in another person's shoes and anticipate their reactions and their needs. A thoughtful person gives you the impression that you matter to him. A thoughtful person shows you that he is thinking of you and your best interests and we love that in a person. 4. Positive outlook A positive outlook in a person makes him/her very attractive. A person with a positive outlook lifts us up every time and tells us that there is hope. He gives us strength to take on the worst life throws at us and still carryon. For a person with a positive outlook, life is full of possibilities and we are full of potential and great prospects.5. Open-mindedness We are all different and we have different outlooks on life but we need to be down to earth. We have different views and we have gone through different experiences.The person who is open-minded gives us permission to be ourselves without feeling that we are being judged. That is why a person who is open-minded is attractive to us. In his company we are comfortable to be ourselves. The open-minded person is also broad-minded and willing to learn new things. An open minded person recognizes that this is not a white or black world; he recognizes that there are many different shades out there. Being open minded is the highest form of respect you can give those you relate to; no wonder we are attracted to the open minded person.6. Good personal grooming Good personal grooming is very attractive because it says the person respects himself and therefore will respect you. Anyone who takes care to dress well and look good gets doors opening for him. The fact is that we tend to draw conclusions about a person's character by the way he grooms himself. If his grooming is good, we assume that he is responsible and even trustworthy and definitely worthy of our attention.7. Good Communication skills This means knowing how to speak, when to speak, and when to listen as well as knowing how to keep a good conversation going without dominating the exchanges. A person with good communication skills is able to draw us out and get us talking freely. No wonder we find such people attractive.8. Success Success comes in many forms and in various contexts but no matter the form or the context, we find the successful person attractive. This is because the successful person, in whatever area or field, inspires us to pursue success ourselves and we love him for that.9. Hard work Whenever I meet a dating couple, I ask them what attracted them to each other and I am always surprised to find that the quality of hard work features in almost every case. We find those who are hard working attractive.10. Good reputation There are people about whom no one has a good thing to say. Those people we tend to avoid. But there are people who are well-spoken of and we are drawn to such people. A person with a good reputation tells us that we can trust him and depend on him; we feel safe with such a person.11. Wisdom We love a wise person. It is refreshing to meet someone who talks sense and who can be deep at the appropriate time. It is wonderful to get close to someone who knows the right from the wrong and chooses the right every time. Such a person commands our respect and our trust and we are comfortable to seek their mind on any issue, confident that we will receive the right guidance. Wisdom is a very powerful and attractive magnet.12. Good looks This is deliberately mentioned last even though when we talk about attractiveness, most of us think only of good looks. Yes, indeed beauty is a powerful draw but thank God it is not the only draw in attractiveness. If it were, someone like me would never be attractive to anyone.These 12 are by no means an exhaustive list of what we find attractive in people, so I encourage you to make your own list.
