A magistrate's court at Bibiani in the Western Region has remanded in prison custody a 40-year-old woman who allegedly hired three men including her former boyfriend to kill Mustapha Salifu, her husband, at Sefwi-Wenchi.
Ama Agyeiwaa, whose plea was not taken, will re-appear before the court on January 10.
The court asked the police to intensify investigations to enable them to apprehend the three men who were on the run.
Detective Police Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court presided over by Mr. Disckson Dakatsey that the complainant, Mustapha Salifu, had been married to Agyeiwaa for three years now and had a child with her.
Chief Inspector Asamoah said Salifu established a drinking bar for the accused at Sefwi-Wenchi.
He said on December 7, this year, the complainant assisted his wife to in the sale of drinks until about 1am when they went to sleep.
Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah said while they were asleep, Agyeiwaa suddenly woke up, went out and returned with three men including her former boyfriend.
Prosecution said Agyeiwaa locked the door, asked her husband to say his last prayers and ordered the three men to kill him.
Chief Inspector Asamoah said the three men engaged Salifu in a struggle and Solomon, Agyeiwaa's former boyfriend, inflicted cutlass wounds on the complainant.
The three men however took to their heels when Salifu raised the alarm.
