The 55-year-old hunter, who callously murdered his wife at Bedwoase, a farming community in the Amensie Central District of the Ashanti Region after church service on Sunday, has shot himself dead.Akwasi Tabi, who was an elder of Salvation Bethel Church at Homase No. 1 near Bedwoase, ended his life on the dawn of Monday after sneaking back into his room and blowing his chest with the very double-barrel gun he used in killing Yaa Baby, his wife.He had fled the bloody Sunday murder, which he committed soon after returning from church around 7.00am in the presence of one of his children. The hunter’s body was found in a pool of blood when some relatives who heard the unusual noise in his room, broke into it around 5.30am, increasing the agony, mourning and misery of the people in the farming community.Tabi’s remains and that of his murdered wife have since been deposited at the Bekwai Government Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy and police investigations.Yaa Baby, a mother of six, was shot at the back at close range with a double-barrel gun by her husband, a church elder who has not paid her bride price. He started harbouring hatred for the woman after she served notice to leave him.The hunter shot his wife when she went to his house to collect the dirty clothes of her children for washing after the couple had live separately for weeks.Immediately after the marriage between the two broke down, Tabi sold the only refrigerator used to sell iced water for the up-keep of the home after years of shirking his responsibilities as head of the family.Yaa Baby, who had made up her mind to walk out of the marriage at all cost, did not budge in spite of several meetings held to trash out the misunderstanding, mother of the deceased, Maame Abena Donko earlier told Daily Guide after confirming the incident.Source: Daily Guide/Ghana
