Amy Winehouse has confirmed her appearance at former South African President Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert this summer, after reportedly accepting a personal invitation from the ex-politician last month.
Organisers recently promised further A-list stars would be added to the London bill, in order to "surprise" Mandela and music fans when the gig takes place in Hyde Park on 27 June.
And earlier this month, the Daily Mail claimed the Back To Black star was stunned to personally hear from Mandela, and quickly accepted his offer.
The singer will join a host of global superstars to perform on the day, including Queen, Leona Lewis, Annie Lennox and Dame Shirley Bassey.
Other stars due to make an appearance at the birthday celebrations include Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker, chatshow queen Oprah Winfrey, and former U.S. president Bill Clinton.
Tim Massey, International Director of 46664, says: "We are delighted that Amy will be appearing at Hyde Park to celebrate Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday. Amy joins an illustrious list of names showing their support for 46664 and the fight against AIDS.
Eminem, U2 and the Spice Girls have also been linked to the concert.
