Police in Kumasi have commenced investigations into the death of a 22 year lady said to have been stabbed by her boyfriend at Oduom.
The incident reportedly happened soon after Juliana Asiedu’s family told her boyfriend with whom she has a child that they could not continue the relationship.
The victim is said to have reported her boyfriend’s abusive behaviour to the family.
According to her brother Daniel Asiedu, the alleged murderer often subjects her sister to severe beating and when the sister could not take the abuse any longer, she opted out of the relationship.
However, the suspect didn’t agree to the victim quitting the relationship and on the day the victim decided to pack her belongings out of the suspect’s house, she was chased by the suspect to the roadside where she was stabbed.
She was rushed to the hospital but she could not survive. The victim who has a 3 year-old child with the suspect has been cohabiting with him for the past five years.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology police have confirmed the incident but have declined comments for now as they commence investigations.
