Christian Women have been advised to shun gossiping, backbiting and invocation of curses and portray Christ like qualities of patience, meekness and gentleness.
Reverend Father Joseph Biney, in charge of the Roman Catholic Church at Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District, was speaking at a three-day bi-annual retreat held for members of the Nyinahin Nkruma Catholic Women Council at the weekend.
The programme organised under the theme “Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me”, aimed at encouraging women to pray for the nation, their families and the Church.
Rev. Biney commended President John Evans Atta Mills for nominating Mrs. Theresah Adomako, President of the Women’s Council as District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima-Mponua.
Mrs. Theresah Adomako, in a report, said the Council established in 1981, had cultivated 10 hectares of cocoa, which was generating income for the Church.
She said members of the Council had benefited from skill training in bee-keeping and grass-cutter rearing among other things.
