Information reaching JOY BUSINESS indicates that workers of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority are this morning clad in red in protest against what they describe as poor salary conditions.
Sources say the workers numbering over 300 are aggrieved over the failure of management to undertake performance appraisal for them since the authority and the Airports Company were decoupled in 2007.
JOY BUSINESS gathers negotiations with management have stalled and thus the workers decision to wear red to work from this morning.
The workers who are members of the Public Service Workers Union (PSWU) have threatened strike if management fails to address their concerns by the end of the week.
With the workers responsible for the regulatory and navigation services at the country’s airports, there are concerns any such action could adversely affect operations at the airport.
The workers are meanwhile also considering an arbitration with the National Labour Commission.
