Business leaders in Ghana and cocktail lovers had a grand evening at Santoku, one of Accra’s elite and premium restaurant, as one of the world’s most celebrated mixologist, Tim Etherington Judge served the best cocktails with a selection of premium reserve brands from Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL).
Reserve brands in GGBL’s portfolio include Johnnie Walker Blue and Gold Label, Tanqueray 10, Don Julio Tequila, Ciroc Ultra-premium Vodka, Ketel One Vodka. Tim’s arrival in Ghana is part of the business’ commitment to deepen the spirits category knowledge and understanding and also to build the capabilities of bartenders in premium outlets and introduce a variety of cocktails to top business executives in Accra.
Currently the Africa Reserve Brand Ambassador for Diageo, the parent company of GGBL, Tim is driven by a passion for innovation and the finer things in life, and believes that the hospitality industry surpasses the regularities of a job and is more of a lifestyle one.
Having won several accolades that showcases his impressive credentials, Tim is greatly recognised for his exceptional work throughout Asia, Europe and Africa. These include the Hancocks New Zealand Bartender of the Year (2009), Appleton Estate Gold Partner Programme (2008) and Whisky Live! (2008). Tim was featured on Ardent Spirits, the No.1 authority in the World of cocktails as one of the World’s best bartenders’. His cocktail recipes have also been published in numerous international books such as The Bartenders Annual Manual and La Guida.
At the event held in Accra, Managing Director of GGBL Peter Ndegwa said “Tim’s excellent mixing skills are unrivalled and we are excited that he has been able to share his skills with selected stakeholders in Ghana.”
“Bartendering is an art that requires extensive training, but unfortunately here in Ghana, it has not received the focus it requires.
“To up the skills of bartenders in Ghana - Tim, together with a local GGBL team - will take some of our key stakeholders through the art of exquisite bartendering and rich mixology. We hope this experience will motivate our local bartenders to serve our reserve brands in style, and will enhance the experience of our consumers and customers”.
