An educational think tank has extolled teachers for their hard work, effort and sacrifices in making a difference and inspiring future generations amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
IFEST's admiration comes on the back of the celebration of World Teacher's Day on Monday under the theme: “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future.”
Despite the challenges teachers have encountered following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, IFEST commended teacher's effort in ensuring students get educated.
The pandemic added significantly to the already existing problems being faced by the country’s educational system since Ghana recorded its first cases on March 12.
However, IFEST urged teachers to take up the challenge as an opportunity the crises have presented and come up with innovative ways such as new teaching and learning technologies to educate students without meeting them physically.
IFEST also admonished government to support teachers with the necessary resources in terms of finance and the provision of needed educational resources and digital devices during these times to enable them to leverage technology to improve learning outcomes.
