Lamine Yamal was on target, and Marcus Rashford had an assist as holders Barcelona held off Albacete to advance into the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
Teenager Yamal scored his first goal in this season's competition to put his side ahead in the 39th minute.
Defender Ronald Araujo added the second 11 minutes after the restart from Rashford's corner, before Javi Moreno's 87th-minute consolation for the hosts.
Barca's victory ended the Second Division side's fairytale run in the competition, which included a dramatic last-gasp winner against Real Madrid in the previous round.
In the first meeting between the two sides since 2005, Hansi Flick's side created the first chance in the eighth minute when Rashford fired wide after a clever pass from Dani Olmo.
The La Liga leaders continued to dominate possession, but were unable to conjure a shot on target until Yamal netted.
After Rashford and Frenkie de Jong had combined to win the ball back high in the Albacete half, the Spain international, 18, needed only one touch to curl his finish past goalkeeper Raul Lizoain for a 14th goal of the season.
Two minutes into the second half, Olmo's effort from inside the area was cleared off the line by Dani Bernabeu after a magnificent solo run from Rashford.
But the England forward, on loan from Manchester United, didn't have to wait too long for the assist his performance deserved.
Rashford became only the third La Liga player to reach double figures for goals and assists in all competitions this season when Araujo headed home his corner.
Albacete, though, provided late drama when defender Moreno connected with Jose Carlos Lazo's cross to halve the deficit.
Ferran Torres then had a goal disallowed for offside at the other end in added time as Barcelona clinched their place in the last four.
