More than 3,000 beneficiaries of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have received essential equipment and financial aid to begin their entrepreneurial ventures.

Employment and Labour Relations Minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah presented items including sewing machines, hair dryers, baking machines, makeup kits, and ¢1,000 to support these young entrepreneurs.


After completing a two-week Rapid Skill Training programme, the beneficiaries gained expertise in fields such as soap and detergent making, wallpaper installation, dressmaking, electric fence and gate automation.

Others are solar installation, GPS tracking, innovative agriculture, manicure, pedicure, make-up, catering, access control systems, CCTV installation, DSTV installation, and auto diagnostics.

Additionally, the Digital Skills Training covered areas like digital and social media marketing, coding and robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), drone assembly and operations, phone and laptop repairs, and recycling of waste plastics.
The Master Class provided training in plumbing and auto/vehicle servicing.

The Minister emphasised the importance of monitoring the beneficiaries to ensure effective use of the resources, aiming to combat youth unemployment and stimulate Ghana’s economic growth.

In his speech, Deputy CEO Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim commended the beneficiaries and announced that 2,328 participants had completed unique skills training in beauty and wellness, culinary arts, technical skills, and entrepreneurship.

He also highlighted the ongoing consideration of 10,000 job applicants for employment.
The YEA’s efforts align with the government’s commitment to developing STEM education and addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This initiative represents a critical step toward empowering Ghana’s youth and building a brighter future.
