The University of Education, Winneba, chapter of the Youth for Human Rights Africa (YoHRA) shall be launched and inaugurated on Friday, 13th April 2018.
The event is part of YoHRA’s efforts to extend human rights education and outreach to university campuses throughout Ghana.
The Winneba event will be held at the Sports College Auditorium at the North Campus at 10:30 am.
The event will be chaired by Dr. Harrison Kwame Golo, the Acting Director of Center for Conflict, Human Rights and Peace Studies.
“We invite volunteers, sponsors and our Media Human Rights Ambassadors to support and promote this event,” President of YoHRA and popular Human Rights lawyer, Francis Sosu told Myjoyonline.com.
“We will take advantage through various speakers to update the students and participants on the current status of YoHRA and its events, YoHRA's current human Rights concerns in the nation, and induct the new Executives of the UEW-YoHRA,” Mr. Sosu added.
Winneba campus thus becomes the 5th chapter of YoHRA after Mountcrest University, Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Ghana Christian University and University of Ghana chapters.
The president hinted plans are far advanced for the launch of the chapter for University of Allied Sciences, which has been scheduled to take place in May 2018.
