Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansah has commended Principal of the Jackson Institute of Technology (JIT), Theodosia Wilhelmina Jackson for her dedication and contribution to the growth of education in Ghana.

According to him, the Ghana Education Service (GES) recognizes the tremendous effort she has done in her school from pre-tertiary to tertiary levels.

"You have shaped the lives of thousands if not millions of children in this country, right from pre- tertiary to tertiary," he noted.

He stated this during the institute's fourth graduation ceremony, which was held in Kumasi.

A total of 108 students got certifications in areas such as web creation, introduction to information technology and key window applications, data analytics, and working smart with Microsoft Office and the internet.

The Director-General noted that the fourth Industrial Revolution represents the consolidation of digital technologies, automation, and data exchange in manufacturing and other sectors, as well as reshaping industry, economies, and societies worldwide.

"As the Director- General of the education service, I more than anyone else, understand that embracing industry 4.0 is critical to our nation's progress and prosperity," he said.

According to him, technology is revolutionizing practically every element of human life and redefining the skills and knowledge required in today's workforce.

He stated that the government's educational reforms, particularly those centered on STEM education, will provide learners with the 21st-century capabilities needed to fully participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Managing Director of JIT, Daniel Jackson stated that given the new set of capabilities introduced by technology, no one should rely entirely on government for employment possibilities.

He stated that while many jobs are being lost, new ones are being created on a daily basis to replace them.

He stressed the importance of JIT in driving the transition to a digital economy. This would be accomplished by providing folks with necessary digital skills via extensive training programs.

He challenged the graduates to learn new talents on a regular basis in order to stay current with the abilities needed to tackle societal concerns while also making money.
