Actress Juliet Ibrahim believes that the exuberance of young movie makers are conspicuously putting Ghana on the map with their productions.
The actress said this during an interview with Joy News at the premiere of her colleague actress and producer Salma Mumin’s movie ‘No Man’s Land’ at the Silverbird Cinema over the weekend.
Juliet and some of her colleagues, including, Kafui Danku, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Lydia Forson, Salma Mumin, took the bull by the horn and veered from being just actresses to producers of movies when the industry was no longer producing movies.
Juliet, in awe of the attendance at the star-studded premiere of ‘No Man’s Land’, lauded the efforts of youthful movie makers.
“We the young movie makers today are the ones putting Ghana movie industry on the map. When I visit Nigeria and I step out, people get to hear about the Ghana movie industry just because they hear that I am a celebrity from Ghana.”
Juliet, who premiered her second production ‘Shattered Romance’ few months ago, opined that, recent Ghanaian movies productions are attracting tourists into the country.
“With these movies, we can also sell our country positively to the world. People need to understand that it is not all about being all glamourous, but we can use our movies as a platform or a form of tourism for the country.”
Salma Mumin’s ‘No Man’s Land’ tells the story of war and peace. It is themed on the essence of peace especially as Ghana goes to the polls later this year.
