Over the weekend, several Ghanaian celebrities joined the list of verified persons of popular social media platform, Twitter.
Actress, Yvonne Nelson (@yvonnenelsongh), music group, R2Bees (@r2bees), E.L. (@ELrepGH), D-Black (@DBLACKGH) and some members of his Black Avenue Music (BAM) were among some of the celebrities who saw their accounts authenticated by Twitter.
Yvonne Nelson is the first Ghanaian actress to be recognised by Twitter.
In September 2012, Black Entertainment Television (BET) award winner Sarkodie joined the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong of Arsenal and Black Stars players Andre Dede Ayew and Kwadwo Asamoah, whose accounts have been verified by the social networking site.
A verified Twitter account is an account that Twitter has confirmed to be the real person. It comes with a blue tick over the official Twitter badge of the user.
Musicians Joey B (@1RealJoeyB), Ayraaba (@ayraaba), producer Sammie Blacc (@sammieblacc), Young Dapper (@RealYoungDapper) and Robby Adams (@RobbyMusicgh) all of Black Avenue Music have seen accounts verified.
