The Secretary of the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions Council of Zongo Chiefs has urged Muslim leaders to intensify public education to stem the spread of the Covid-19 in Zongo communities.
Jascot Hawkins Alhassan said Muslim leaders were expected to do sensitisation as part of their daily prayers so that Muslims would understand and protect themselves from contracting the viral disease.   Â
He said the Zongo youth must be empowered to take the centre stage in helping to curb the spread of the Covid-19 in the Zongo communities.  Â
He lauded the numerous interventions put in place by the government to manage the disease and also to enhance the socio-economic livelihoods of the people amidst Covid-19.Â
Mr. Alhassan, therefore, urged the populace to religiously adhere to social and physical distancing, handwashing with soap under running water and wearing of nose masks in public places.
He noted with regret that the Covid-19 had affected all aspects of social lives, hence the need for Muslims to support the government in helping to contain the spread of the disease in the country.Â
Mr Alhassan applauded the peaceful co-existence between Muslims and all religious sects and expressed the hope that such cordiality would be strengthened to deepen the prevailing peace in the country.
