Orphans at the Bawjiase Orphanage in the Central Region had an awful lot to cheer about, Wednesday, when the Zoomlion foundation presented items and cash amount to them.
The orphanage was among four needy institutions, including Mephiboseth Training Centre (MTC), an institution for the physically and mentally challenged children at Apam in the Central Region, Wa School for the Blind in the Upper West Region as well as the Drug and Alcohol Free Awareness and Rehabilitation Centre at Medie, Greater Accra which benefitted from the items and cash worth GH¢30,000.
The presentation was part of the annual thanksgiving initiative of the foundation. The donation was also to show love to the needy institutions during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Items donated included bags of rice, cooking oil, sardine, corned beef, milo, milk, washing powder, cartons of key soap etc.

Mephibosheth Training Centre (MTC) in particular received 100 bags of cement as support for the school dining project; a washing machine, washing powder, provisions and cash donation.
The National Coordinator of the Zoomlion Foundation, Mrs. Sarah Kyei, who donated the items on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Zoomlion and Jospong Group of Companies, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong said the donation was part of the Foundation's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
She indicated that Zoomlion and Jospong Group of Companies are committed to giving back to society and have since launched the Zoomlion Foundation to spearhead all its social interventions.
The head of the Bawjiase Orphanage as well as the three other institutions all expressed profound gratitude to the Foundation for the immense support.
