More than one thousand workers had their blood pressure as well as their eyes and ears checked.

The one-day exercise cost a total of about GHC60,000.
“Sanitation workers in Ghana are dear to the heart of Zoomlion Ghana Limited. Without the support of sanitation workers, Zoomlion would not be able to manage waste in the country” said Mrs Sarah Kyei, Coordinator of the Foundation.
She disclosed that the exercise was aimed at evaluating and addressing potential health risks associated with work activities of sanitation workers, and inculcate a culture of sound environmental practices through training and capacity building.
According to her, the medical screening will help in early detection and prevention of the effects of these exposures.
“We are happy to be supporting this initiative, which the Foundation believes would go a long way to improve the lives of sanitation workers in the country”, Mrs Kyei said.
She further expressed profound gratitude to event partners, including Tobinco Foundation for donating medical supplies and PENSA Korle BU Medical Outreach team for providing medical personnel.
Executive Director of Tobinco Foundation, Mrs Millicent Akoto said her Foundation’s contribution to ensure success of the programme was made possible because of the passion of the Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies towards such projects.
