A brilliant but needy female is appealing for support to enable her to meet financial obligations to enroll as a medical laboratory scientist in Ghana.
Amanda Abena Mensah, secured admission at the Koforidua Technical University to pursue a High National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science programme.
However, Miss Amanda is on the brim of failing to fulfill her dream of becoming a health professional, after working hard to score aggregate 11 in the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The 2019 Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School graduate fears she might not be able to achieve her childhood ambition to serve humanity, as she is unable to raise ¢2,202 to pay her academic facility user fees and other administrative levies.
”I didn't attempt to apply in the previous years because I had no idea how I will raise my fees in case I get admitted”, she explained.
Miss Amanda, who was fortunate to receive support from the Girl in Need Foundation during her second cycle education would have her admission forfeited if she fails to pay the fees in full by the end of January 2021.
In an interview with Joy News, Edith Mabel Ama Berko lamented her inability to cater for her granddaughter as she is a pensioner who had her investment locked with the defunct First Ghana Savings and Loans.
”I am so worried, I so much wish she continues her education but I don't have the financial strength to support her”, she grieved.
Given this, Madam Berko is appealing to all and sundry to help raise her granddaughter's admission fee to enable her to pursue her dream of contributing to the growth of Ghana’s health sector.
